It's Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer.

If you're looking to cap the season at Kings Island or Cedar Point, here's what to know.

Are Kings Island, Cedar Point open on Labor Day?

Yes, both parks are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Labor Day. Kings Island's water park, Soak City, will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. while Cedar Point Shores will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Labor Day also marks the end of Cedar Point's regular season. Through Nov. 2, the park will be open Thursday through Sunday for HalloWeekends.

Likewise, Halloween Haunts at Kings Island kicks off Sept. 20.

  • Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 98 degrees.

  • Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81.

  • Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 82.

  • Monday: Sunny, with a high near 72.

And for Kings Island's location in Mason, the NWS forecasts:

  • Friday: A chance of showers. Sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 100.

  • Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80.

  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

  • Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.

What's the busiest day to travel for Labor Day?

Per AAA, Labor Day travel this year is expected to rise by 9%.

INRIX, a provider of transportation data, says drivers should hit the road in the mornings, except for Saturday, when the best time to travel is in the afternoon, AAA reports.

  • From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday
