Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke's ‘GoT’ Sex Scene Was ‘Unnatural and Strange’ (but Not for the Reason You Think)
Remember in the ultra-dramatic season 7 finale of Game of Thrones when the two greatest leaders in Westeros finally get down to business? It’s the satisfying moment that fans have all been waiting for, complete with a rocking boat, candlelight and some very sultry eye contact. And sure, Jon Snow and Daenerys are related (aunt and nephew), but it’s GoT, so you know, no biggie.
In this month’s Vanity Fair, the stars reveal that the sex scene was extra uncomfortable for the two close friends (and not because of that whole incest thing).
“If you’ve known someone for six years, and they’re best friends with your girlfriend, and you’re best friends with them,” Harington says, “there is something unnatural and strange about doing a love scene. We’ll end up kissing and then we’re just pissing ourselves with laughter because it’s so ridiculous.”
Hold the door—Jon Snow and the Mother of Dragons giggling with each other? Hard to believe but hey, crazier things have happened in the Seven Kingdoms.
