Kyle Richards Speaks Out About 'Very Overwhelming' Divorce Rumors
Kyle Richards addressed how the news of her separation from husband Mauricio Umansky was shared unexpectedly, opening up about her feelings in a recent Amazon Live.
While streaming a live called "What's In My Bag with Kyle Richards," the 54-year-old discussed how her family is doing after constant divorce rumors followed by the confirmation of Richards and Umansky's separation.
She said, “I’m actually holding up right now really really well… two weeks ago not so much.”
“I’ve been dealing with [the rumors] for so long that I'm numb to it," said Richards, referring to the rumors over the years of the couple divorcing. But she noted that "this time felt different," as the official news of her and Umansky's separation "came so fast and out of the blue."
Describing the moment the news went public, Richards recalled: "We were all in Aspen, Mauricio and my girls, and we were about to go on the river and paddle boarding and all of our phones started blowing up. Everybody was like, 'What's happening?' My daughters said it felt like someone died… Everyone was coming to us asking what’s wrong. That was very overwhelming."
At the start of July, People first reported that Richards and Umansky were separating and that a source told the publication, "Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof. They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family."
Richards and her husband released a statement shortly after addressing the situation and confirmed that they "have had a rough year." But they clarified that "any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue," asking people not to speculate or spread rumors and allow them to get through this in private.

In the new Amazon Live, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star lamented, "It would be nice to be able to work through issues in your life without everyone watching and weighing in on it, but when that article came out we didn't really have a choice, and that's why we posted on our Instagram."
But luckily, revealing the truth has helped the family feel relieved: "We all felt better after we posted that because so many people were speculating and making up stories.”
Richards and Umansky have been married since 1996, and they share three daughters, Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23 and Portia, 15. She also shares a daughter named Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie.
