Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian are already being mom-shamed — for two very different reasons
Kylie Jenner‘s daughter, Stormi Webster, is just weeks old, while Khloé Kardashian has yet to give birth to her first child, a boy. Yet both sisters have been getting grief over their parenting skills.
Jenner’s mommy shaming stems from a Feb. 27 People article, in which an unnamed source spoke about childcare help the 20-year-old beauty mogul is receiving.
“With the support and abilities she has to hire nannies and assistants, she’s been a really, really great mom,” the insider told the magazine, reinforcing an earlier report that Jenner had “hired some help” to care for Stormi, who was born Feb. 1.
The source added that Jenner is “incredibly doting and hands-on as a mom.” Though she’s far from the first celebrity or parent to seek assistance, her childcare situation has been met with scorn. Some have accused the reality star of “glorifying” being a young mother and creating “unrealistic expectations.”
Normal 20 year old sometimes do have babies. But raise their own without nannies and assistants. Once again what is being glorified is an unrealistic expectation of what real is actually like.

Imagine being Kylie Jenner talking about the struggles of parent hood when she has enough money to have a full time nanny and carry on with her forever growing business such a hard life

Seriously how selfish is Kylie Jenner, just palming off her baby to the nanny to deal with. Makes me angry. What a brat!

@KylieJenner Welcome to motherhood! This is nothing! If you think this hard ?♀?Try raising your kid without a nanny like th rest of the single moms out there. Grow up and put your big girl panties own! pic.twitter.com/nAIf82GPW8

How do nannies and assistants make for good parenting??? She’s having other people take care of her baby. Paying for help is not being a parent. Give me a break!!!

You lost me at “With the help of nannies and assistants……..”. I raised two sons on my own with no help. Can I get a standing ovation?
— ??Brigette (@BrigetteMurphy) February 28, 2018
Can you really put the words "hands-on mom" and "nannies and assistants" in the same sentence?
— Dennise Grant (@grant1965) February 28, 2018
Sooo… basically other people are raising her baby and she gets the glory?
File that under: "Things that make ya go Hhmmm!"— Jennifer Johnson (@JenKJohnson22) February 28, 2018
Others did point out that Jenner shouldn’t be judged for having the financial resources to hire help.
If I was able to afford a nanny or an assistant I wouldn't complaint at all and that doesn't make me any less or a better mom. Stop shaming people and let's be kind to one another. #shameonyouPeople pic.twitter.com/oL73MyQl3q

She pays her own bills…good for her. She’s 20 years old and not bugging anyone.

Meanwhile, Jenner’s older half-sister caught flak for flying to Japan on Feb. 26 while eight months pregnant. Critics accused Kardashian, who is traveling with sisters Kim and Kourtney, of putting her baby’s health at risk by flying so close to her due date.
A post shared by Khloé (@khloekardashian) on Feb 27, 2018 at 10:50pm PST
@khloekardashian how are you in japan if you’re 8 months pregnant when FRIENDS taught me you can’t fly during your 3rd trimester…?

Are u suppose to be flying to Japan in this late, stage of pregnancy?? I would be concerned about going into early labor in another country just saying girl
— rosemary davis (@rosemar26428973) February 26, 2018
Why would you fly 17 hours over an ocean at 8 months???

As some commenters have suggested, the expectant mothermost likely would have needed a doctor’s authorization to fly. According to the World Health Organization, a woman who has reached the 28th week of pregnancy must carry a letter from her doctor or midwife confirming the due date and a lack of pregnancy complications. A woman carrying one baby, as Kardashian is, can typically fly up to the end of the 36th week of pregnancy. Women carrying multiple babies must restrict air travel after week 32. Special consideration is taken if a pregnant woman has experienced complications or health issues, such as pre-eclampsia or high blood pressure.
Though Kardashian has described her first trimester as “painful,” if her pregnancy has been otherwise healthy and she’s still weeks away from her due date, her doctor no doubt would have signed off on the trip. Still: Who knew Twitter had so many medical experts?
