Lake County Genealogical Society to hear about using naturalization records
May 25—The Lake County Genealogical Society will hold a Zoom meeting at 10 a.m. May 30.
Anyone interested in building their family tree or conducting historical and genealogical research is invited to attend, according to a news release.
Following a brief business session, guest speaker Steve Szabados will present "Find Your Roots in Naturalization Records." He says that naturalization records are a great source to begin a search for ancestors' European roots, the release stated.
He will start his program with the history of the naturalization process and a review of the requirements. He also will present reviews of traditional and online sources to find your ancestors' documents.
Szabados serves as a genealogy columnist for the Polish American Journal and has authored multiple genealogy books. Previously, he has been on the board of the Polish Genealogical Society of America and has volunteered in genealogy at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library.
To receive an invitation to the Zoom meeting, email at least two days in advance to [email protected] or use the contact form at www.lcgsohio.org/contact.
The Lake County Genealogical Society actively supports the genealogical collection at Morley Library in Painesville by donating materials, staffing the genealogy room, acquiring, sharing and filing genealogical newsletters, indexing items, and answering queries, the release stated.
