Las Vegas Gunman Booked a Hotel for Lollapalooza
TMZ reports Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock booked hotel rooms in Chicago for this past summer’s Lollapalooza music festival.
Paddock booked two rooms in the Blackstone hotel for 7/23-8/01 and for 7/27-8/03, all dates that corresponded with Lollapalooza. He reportedly specifically requested rooms with views overlooking the festival, which 400,000 people attended this year (Paddock stationed himself on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and opened fire down into the crowd of 22,000 in Vegas). Malia Obama was one of the people in attendance at the festival this year.
Paddock never showed for the reservations, TMZ says. The Chicago Tribune reports police are looking into the validity of the reservations: "We are aware of the media reports and have been in communication with our federal partners,” chief police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the paper.
Las Vegas police have also said Paddock booked hotel rooms near a Chance the Rapper concert in the city last month.
