'Latinos for Trump' organizer kicked out of bar for wearing MAGA hat
Jazmina Saavedra, a former California congressional candidate and a spokesperson for the organization Latinos for Trump, is calling for a boycott of a bar that told her to leave for wearing a MAGA hat.
Saavedra filmed a dispute between herself and the owner of River Run Grill and Sports Bar in Ehrenberg, Ariz., over her red “Make America Great Again” hat and shared it on YouTube on Friday. “We’re going to ‘Make America Great Again’ and there’s nothing you can do!” she says.
The owner tells Saavedra that he doesn’t want her business and orders her to leave the bar. “I don’t want that hat on,” he says, referring to “the lying, cheating Trump.”

“I love Trump!” replies Saavedra.
When a patron suggests that Saavedra is Mexican, she says, “No, I’m not. I’m American.” According to her website, Saavedra is a legal American citizen, who immigrated from Nicaragua,.
As Saavedra leaves the bar, she yells, “Trump 2020! He’s going to be your president in 2020, like it or not.”
Saavedra, who ran against Clueless actress and Fox News contributor Stacey Dash in the Republican primary in California’s 44th Congressional District, states on her website: “Jazmina is Pro-life and supports our Second Amendment. California passed laws against our morals and faith as conservative families. Laws that jeopardizes the health of our children and young people, that weaken our economy with programs that do no [sic] benefit our citizens and our children, but rather help aliens who have no legal right to be in our country.”
In June, Saavedra was temporarily banned by Facebook and slammed by the restaurant chain Denny’s for harassing a transgender customer for using the women’s restroom. “I’m trying to use the ladies’ room with a man inside saying he’s a lady,” Saavedra said in her footage shot in Los Angeles.
“You’re invading my privacy,” Saavedra accuses the customer. “Next time use the men’s room!” Under California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), a person can use the restroom or locker room as dictated by their gender identity, regardless of their assigned sex at birth.
Saavedra later told The Advocate that the customer was doing drugs in the restroom, evidence of which the restaurant acknowledged in a statement. “There is no place for discrimination of any kind in our restaurants,” a spokesperson for Denny’s said in part. “We do apologize to our transgender guest and others in the restaurant that had to endure another customer’s disrespectful behavior.”
Yahoo Lifestyle could not reach the owner of River Run Grill and Sports Bar for comment. Saavedra did not return Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment.
