LeBron James Breaks Silence After His Son Bronny Suffers Cardiac Arrest
LeBron James has shared an update on his son Bronny James, after the 18-year-old suffered cardiac arrest during a college basketball practice on the morning of July 24.
Bronny, who was named a McDonald's All-American as a high school senior in 2023, currently plays college ball for the University of Southern California's Trojans men's basketball team. Following a 911 call from USC's Galen Center, where the team plays and practices, an ambulance arrived to find James unconscious.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the family said that Bronny had been treated by medical staff and was in stable condition, and that he was also no longer in the ICU. Although James did not elaborate on his son's condition in his own statement, he thanked fans for their love and support.
"I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers," the 38-year-old NBA champ shared on Thursday. "We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love."
"Will have more to say when we’re ready," he added. "But I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us!

During his high school career at Sierra Canyon, Bronny was a consensus four-star recruit, averaging 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists in his senior year. Even this early in his career, he was widely expected to follow in his father's footsteps to the NBA. Hopefully, Bronny will make a full recovery and be able to continue chasing down his dreams.
