Leonardo DiCaprio to Star in The Wager from Martin Scorsese

Scorsese may be turning 81 next month, but the legendary filmmaker is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.

He was just in London for the screening of Killers of the Flower Moon at the BFI London Film Festival, where he also took part in their Screen Talk series, speaking for 95 minutes on his lengthy career.

Now he has revealed to The Sunday Times of London that his next film will be an adaptation of David Grann's book The Wager.

Set in the 1740s, The Wager is set in motion when a patched-together boat with 30 emaciated men landed on the coast of Brazil. The men were the surviving crew of British ship that was chasing a Spanish vessel and had crashed onto an island in South America's Patagonia region. Their tales of surviving the seas and elements made them heroes. However, six months later another vessel, even more beat up than the first one, ended up on the coat of Chile, this one with three men. These new sailors charged that the other men were actually mutineers.

Scorsese revealed that the film will star Leonardo DiCaprio, but no other cast members have been announced yet.

David Grann also wrote Killers of the Flower Moon, which has been making its way around the festival circuit this year, starting back in May when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Killers of the Flower Moon will finally be in theaters in just a few days, on October 20.
