Lil Yachty reveals he has never changed his daughter's diaper: 'I just don't want to'
Rapper Lil Yachty revealed he has never changed a diaper in a recent episode of the Going Mental podcast.
The One Night rapper, 25, reportedly welcomed his first child in October 2021 and says he has never changed a single one of her diapers because he doesn't want to.
"I'm not going to," he said. When prompted by the podcast host to see if he would be open to changing any diapers in the future, Yachty replied with a curt, "I don't change diapers."
When asked to elaborate, he replied simply that he "just don't want to." The host suggested that maybe his mind will change in the future, to which he replied, "I bet it won't."
Yachty continued on to explain that even though he is a parent, he doesn't feel he has to change his own child's diapers because someone else will do it.
"I just don't want to. But I've seen it happen. But I just don't really care to do that," he concluded.
Still, he did take the time to dote on his daughter, describing her as "sick."
He also shared that he was "right smack there," when she was born.
"It was crazy," he said.
He went on to shout out his daughter's mother for being "cool."
"I'm real thankful for her. You know, she's a really caring and understanding woman. She is not troublesome. I tell her all the time. I'm real appreciative for her, you know, because It could have been something else. Right. So, like, it's teamwork. It's a partnership," he said.
As for his favorite part of parenthood so far, Yachty says he has enjoyed watching his daughter reach new milestones in real time.
"Just watching her grow. I've never watched somebody learn things. Like, watching her learn. Like watching her see her shadow for the first time. Like just little things… Just watching her experience things for the first time like candy, or something like a lemon. All these things are just so funny to me, you know like she's a really dramatic character. She shows everything, so it's crazy," he said.
He also looks forward to the future and hopes to influence his daughter in the same way his dad influenced him.
"I'm excited for her to grow because I know I'm my dad's son ... I think without trying he just really influenced me heavily to be a creative," he said.
