Limited Edition Teal TJ's Insulated Bag Spotted in Stores

Summertime calls for beach days, picnics and picnics on the beach. The season also calls for ice-cold drinks and lots of frozen treats. For lugging all of that stuff to the beach and back, a sturdy insulated comes in super handy and is easier to deal with than a cooler filled with ice. Cooler bags are also a clutch, eco-friendly way to keep frozen groceries cold during a trek home any time of year. But why get a regular old insulated bag when you can have a limited edition Trader Joe's insulated bag? Plus, the latest drop comes in the season's hottest color: teal.

Redditors are buzzing about seeing the bag in stores in the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and in Texas. The 8-gallon beauty is the newest color of TJ's signature bag, following in the footsteps of the bright pink one that became an instant favorite in May. The pink bag sold out nearly as soon as it was stocked, and Redditors are already raving they've nabbed a teal one. In other words? Get to your TJ's ASAP if you want to snag one.

What Is the Trader Joe's Insulated Bag?

The fan-favorite Trader Joe's insulated bag is a soft cooler with plenty of insulation to keep food and beverages cold for hours. It has an 8-gallon capacity and is 11.5 x 3.5 x 13 inches. Unlike more utilitarian options that can feel a little dated, the Trader Joe's bag features an image of the store surrounded by palm trees. The bag screams, "summer," before you even open it and notice it's insulated.

Trader Joe's insulated bag has come in numerous colors, including orange, red and black. The grocery store drops new releases seasonally, which shoppers snap up quickly. In May, Trader Joe's dropped a pink and yellow bag that matched the brand's line of Brazil Nut body washes.

"It's also very hefty, [and] can carry about 7 lbs. and keeps all your freezer stuff cold," wrote Alex from @traderjoesnew on Instagram in May. "If you are like me and do a whole bunch of errands after Trader Joe’s or a day at the beach, you need this."

Commenters ran—not walked—to Trader Joe's in search of it. Some found it. Others were sadly too late. But now, Trader Joe's is giving everyone a second chance.

"If you missed out on the pink insulated bag, be on the lookout for teal," wrote u/dailywaffleblog in the Trader Joe's subreddit.

The Redditor posted a picture of the teal beauty next to an $8.99 price tag, though one commenter from Pasadena snagged one for $7.99. But let's not get lost in these minor details. Commenters responded in droves that they went out and snagged one at their local Trader Joe's.

One Redditor gave a quick elevator pitch for anyone on the fence.

"These bags are great!" The poster said. I bought a blue one a couple of years ago, and it is still going strong. Insulates very well!"

Another thread is also alive, with fans clamoring to get their hands on an insulated bag before summer heats up, literally and figuratively.

"Loving the new color," wrote u/flushedroses.

Even people lucky enough to score the pink one are heading back to TJ's for more.

"I have the pink," but I’m grabbing this too," one person responded. "I heard they’re also releasing periwinkle and yellow."

Indeed, Trader Joe's trackers know that yellow is set to debut in the fall, with emerald slated for the winter and periwinkle scheduled for next spring.

But for now, there's the teal one, and Alex from @traderjoesnew also gave her take on Instagram.

"I love this new color. This bag is perfect for picnics, camping, sports, beach. Or simply to carry all of your freezer stuff from Trader Joe’s," Alex wrote. "I learned the hard way you have to put all your chocolate stuff in here, too, so it doesn’t melt."

"These bags are the best!! Keeps things cold for hours!" raved one commenter.

"None at my TJs today. Guess I gotta go back for the third time this week tomorrow," said another.

We admire the dedication and hope the third time is a charm for this person (and the first time does the trick for you).
