Little Girl Throws the Chicest Glamping Sleepover Party Ever
A 5-year-old girl named Makenzie threw a “glamping” sleepover party, and the photos are adorably rustic-luxe.
When Makenzie’s mom, Shenea Richie, was looking for a fun way to spice up her daughter’s May 5 sleepover at their Lancaster, N.Y., home, she called her friend Theresa Thomas, who, only days prior, had launched her themed-sleepover business, Once Upon a Sleepover, in Buffalo.
Thomas, 33, is a mother of eight (including a set of 1-year-old twins) who works as a phone provisions specialist at Time Warner during the day, while operating a cake baking business at night. “I decided to expand my cake business to include themed sleepovers after reading about a similar idea in Australia,” Thomas tells Yahoo Style. She currently offers Star Wars, Paris, and glamping themes.

For Makenzie’s bash, Thomas and her husband made most of the props — including the tents — from scratch, by working when their kids went to sleep. They also provided the invitations for “Camp Kenzie” hosted by “Camp Counselor Shenea.”

Each girl’s tent came stocked with a pair of pink, fuzzy slippers, a personalized eye mask, a blue flashlight, a coloring book, and a mini lantern.

A gold, glittery tent-shaped cake was served, along with pink cupcakes. The girls also took home s’mores kits and goody bags filled with outdoor essentials: washcloths, toothpaste, toothbrushes, bubbles, and candy.
