Liv’s New Shoe Line Is Made for Motion
Earlier this month, Liv launched its first line of cycling shoes to complement its pre-existing women’s specific bikes, helmets, and clothing. At Eurobike, we got the chance to check out the three high-end shoes that comprise the line.
Liv is offering the Macha, a high-end road shoe, the Tesca, a cyclocross/adventure shoe, and the Salita, a mountain bike shoe that is currently not available in the US.
All of the models were designed using Liv’s Dynamic Cycling Fit approach, which dictates that gear should perform best while in motion. With this in mind, Liv developed the Motion Efficiency System to prevent injury and eliminate the need for orthopedic inserts , all while employing a stiff and efficient pedaling platform.
The system includes two core elements: The ExoBeam sole structure stiffens the forefoot while maintaining flex zones throughout the sole to reduce tension, and the ExoWrap Boa closure system wraps around the foot 360-degrees for a fully customizable fit. The off-road models also include the ExoFlex, which allows the toe box to move independently of the rest of the sole to prevent chafing, or ending up with half of the 'cross course in your shoes.
Currently only the Macha ($320) and Tesca ($320) are available in the US at select retailers, but expect to see more of these shoes in the future. Meanwhile, stay tuned for a full review.
