Logan Paul Exploits Suicide Victim in Video
Logan Paul has posted an apology letter after coming under fire from fans and celebrities for a dangerous and insensitive vlog posted about his trip to Japan.
In the video, Logan visits Aokigahara, a forest on Mt. Fuji that's known as the “suicide forest” because of the extremely high rate of suicides that occur there.
Logan started the video by suggesting that it's a huge moment in YouTube history. “This is not clickbait. This is the most real vlog I’ve ever posted to this channel,” he said in the now deleted vlog. “I think this definitely marks a moment in YouTube history because I’m pretty sure this has never hopefully happened to anyone on YouTube ever. Now with that said: Buckle the f*** up, because you’re never gonna see a video like this again!”
Later, Logan and his crew come across a person who appears to have recently died by suicide. From a distance, they blurred the entire body as Logan calls out: “Yo, are you alive? Are you fucking with us?”
The crew then approaches the body, at which point they only blur out the person's face. "His hands are purple. He did this this morning,” Logan comments.
Logan pointed out that he was not monetizing his video and included information for the American Society for Suicide Prevention in the description box, but his viewers were not happy. He was immediately bombarded with a wave of criticism from fans who couldn't believe Logan would exploit a person’s death for views, not to mention his insensitive behavior throughout the video.
Even celebrities like PewDiePie and Aaron Paul took to social media to call Logan out.
