If You Loved Father of the Bride, You'll Be All In With This Backyard Affair
Father of the Bride is hands down my most favorite movie and it has everything to do with that perfect at-home wedding. This celebration has that exact feel. It's stunning, cozy and home-cooked with beautiful imagery by Clary Pfeiffer, coordination by J Detailed Events and florals by HMR Designs. So, if you love backyard celebrations with layers of Fall details and a tented reception a la Father of the Bride, look no further than this magical day.

Steven and I met in college at Miami University. We had the same friends, but didn't truly meet until a spring break trip in Gulf Shores, Alabama. During a rainy day we were part of a group working on a puzzle and the rest is history. We dated long distance for a year after graduating before I made the move to Columbus.
I have always dreamed of getting married at my house and I took inspiration for all of the details from the house and property itself. I wanted everything to be as organic and natural as possible. My goal was for our guests to feel like they were having this wonderfully formal, yet understated, affair under the stars.
I chose my dress in the same naturally-elegant mind frame. It was designed to have pearls all over the bodice and down the body, but I removed them in order to keep the style as timeless as possible.
Steven's favorite part of the day was watching me come down the aisle, mingling with all of our guests at cocktail hour, listening to the toasts that were given and dancing. Mine was definitely the party. I wanted to dance the night away and since we had the best band in the world, I did exactly that.
