These Are the Luxe Thailand Hotels Where ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 Is Being Filmed
The White Lotus production team has been drip-feeding fans small morsels of information about the third season, but now we’ve finally been given something meaty regarding the shooting locations in Thailand.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand and HBO executives announced earlier this month that the next installment will be shot in Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui, with filming scheduled to begin this February. The exact locations have now come to light. The upcoming season of White Lotus will be filmed at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui and the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas in Thailand, as reported by Bloomberg.

One executive says the cast, including Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, and Jason Isaacs, will spend about three months shooting at the aforementioned Four Seasons. Some cast members will also visit temples in Phuket and stay at Anantara’s lavish villas, according to the exec. The Anantara Mai Khao Villas Phuket has reportedly blocked out the calendar for several weeks during the off-peak travel months of April and May. In Bangkok, HBO has eschewed its signature Four Seasons hotel in favor of a more authentically Thai property. The site remains unidentified, according to the source.
Season three won’t hit screens until sometime in 2025. The exact premiere date has yet to be revealed, but the first two seasons debuted in July 2021 and October 2022, respectively. Next summer or fall could be a good fit. Plot details are also scant, but Mike White has hinted that the East will play a big role.
“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then, the second season is sex,” the show’s writer, director, and producer, said in an exclusive clip for HBO. “And I think the third season it would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”
The lavish locations are one of the best parts of White’s award-winning anthology series. The first season was filmed at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii, while the second season was shot at the Four Seasons in Taormina, Sicily. The beautiful backdrops in the latter season have spurred more Americans to splash out on luxe Italian villas, travel to the shores of Sicily, and book stays in the five-star Taormina hotel. You should probably book your flights to Thailand now, then.
