Madonna Raised $7.5 Million for Charity, Yet Everyone Needs to Talk About Her Butt Implants
From late Friday night until early Saturday morning, pop star and icon Madonna hosted a charity event in Miami. It was a night of glamour and trademark Madonna hijinks — which included everything from kissing a younger pop star (Ariana Grande) to politics (telling Trump what she thinks of him) to nostalgia (confessing she still loves Sean Penn and would marry him again). And on and on.
The goal of the event, you may be surprised to hear, was to auction off items from Madonna’s extensive collection of art, fashion, and memorabilia, as well as special gifts and opportunities donated by other celebrities. Items included photos from her very exclusive wedding to Penn back in the 1980s, shot by fashion photographer Herb Ritts; a private magic performance from David Blaine; a respite at Leonardo DiCaprio’s Palm Springs house; art from Damien Hirst; and much more. In all, Madonna raised $7.5 million — all earmarked for her organization Raising Malawi.
Yet, if you look at the chatter in social media, it seems that people are more impressed — and perhaps not in a good way — with what Madonna had going on behind the scenes, as on display in this video of her so-called twerking with Ariana Grande:
Ariana Grande posted a slightly classier installation of their performance on her own Instagram:
As US Weekly described it, Madonna was merely showing off her “toned butt.” Viewers on social media, on the other hand, were quick to point out that this particular one of her assets may be artificial:
At her ripe age of 58, it’s well past established that Madonna can do whatever she wants, particularly with her own body. Likewise, if folks wish to comment on what they see onstage, it continues to be their right to do so. Regardless, we think the idea of raising $7.5 million to help lift the quality of life for kids in Malawi is much more worthy of discussion than whether or not Madonna’s behind is bogus.
