The Mandalorian Has a Secret 'Thor: Ragnarok' Easter Egg
Note: This article contains spoilers from The Mandalorian's season one finale.
It seems The Mandalorian's season finale contained a nifty Thor: Ragnarok Easter egg that you may have missed.
The Disney+ Star Wars series wrapped-up its first batch of episodes late last month, with the season finale seeing Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin declare that "Mandalorian isn't a race. It's a creed".
This comes after Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) reveals that Din doesn't actually come from the Mandalore–rather he is a foundling that they took in.
However, it seems Din's defiant statement echoes a line from Ragnarok, in which Odin tells Thor "Asgard is not a place. Never was… Asgard is where our people stand," a line later echoed by Thor himself.
While this may be a simple coincidence, The Mandalorian's season finale happens to be helmed by Taika Waititi, who directed Ragnarok.
He's not credited as writing the episode, though we wouldn't be shocked if this was a neat little reference added in at the last minute.
Following the first season, Mandalorian boss Jon Favreau has confirmed that the second outing will drop on Disney+ in Fall 2020, the director also sharing a picture of a new-look monster.
The Mandalorian airs on Disney+.
