How to Make a Marbled Clay Coaster
Update your coasters to a modern marble you can make yourself. These coasters are made from polymer clay, which is way more affordable than real marble. We could easily see these coasters as a part of a summer hostess gift. If marble isn't your style, try these DIY slate coasters.

Step-by-Step Instructions
This craft is easy to do with our simple craft instructions. Once you have the hang of it, make sets to give as gifts to your friends!
Step 1: Roll and Shape Clay
Roll a 1" diameter rod using white clay and a 1/2" diameter rod with each contrasting color of clay. Twist the small rods around the large white rod; roll into a rod until colors begin to blend.
Step 2: Create Marbling
Fold the rod in half, and twist the halves together. Roll into a rod. Repeat process until satisfied with marbling. Roll the clay into a 2" ball.
Step 3: Finish Coasters
Using a clay roller, roll the clay to 1/4" thick. Cut a circle from the flattened clay using a cookie cutter. That's your coaster! Repeat to make a set.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper, then bake the coasters according to the manufacturer's instructions. Allow to cool, then paint the edges using gold acrylic paint. Let dry before use.
