Marie Osmond Is Checking Things Off Her Bucket List — And You Won't Believe What's On It! (EXCLUSIVE)

As a member of a legendary showbiz family who started her career in entertainment as a child, Marie Osmond is no stranger to hard work. Over the years, she’s flourished as a successful singer, actress, entrepreneur and television personality, but these days, at 64, Osmond's priorities have shifted to checking experiences off her bucket list and living life to the fullest.

“We can’t cheat ourselves and not give ourselves the best opportunity to live the most healthy, happy lives that we can,” Osmond tells Woman’s World in a recent cover interview (get your copy of Marie's issue here!). “We need to make ourselves a priority," she says, pointing out that "everything joyful exists around being active in life.”

Here, Osmond reveals her bucket list and dishes on her happiest moments.

In 2011, Osmond remarried her first husband, Stephen Craig. The two first married in 1982 and divorced after three years. Now, the couple is more in love than ever and savoring the chance to enjoy life together once more.

Today, the couple has fully embraced their adventurous side: “I’m doing my bucket list right now,” Osmond says with a smile. She details some of their most daring recent moments: “I just recently went on a cruise with my husband," Osmond says.

"I did a zipline 300 feet above a waterfall. I just jumped out of an airplane. I did it with my daughters and they have a weight limitation on that, and I couldn’t have done that before losing 50 pounds on Nutrisystem," shares Osmond, who as been a spokeswoman for the weight loss program for years, and credits it with allowing her to be more active than ever.

After raising eight children and having her second chance at true love, Osmond feels like she's just getting started on crossing off her bucket list. "I’m doing all of these things that I’ve never had time to do before. My children are raised and it’s just the two of us now," she enthuses, and rather than slowing down, she and her husband are embracing a sense of exploration.

Embracing good health

For Osmond, losing weight has had benefits that go far beyond aesthetics. In fact, the singer's health journey has helped her do her job better. Without getting fit, she says, "there’s no way I could have done the last 15 years of my life — five shows a week and everything that I’ve been doing. There’s no way that I could have physically done it.”

Osmond also says that improving her physical healthy has had a direct impact on her mental health. “I know that depression is real, and I believe weight is part of it. I know it was for me,” she says. “I’m telling you, healthy is the way to be.”

Making the best of her golden years

Ever since she burst onto the scene with her bright smile and soaring voice in the '70s, Osmond has embodied positive energy. Today, she's more dedicated than ever to finding joy — and inspiring her friends and fans.

Osmond shares all of her bucket-list adventures on social media — "I’m like, ‘Come on! Join me!'" she says. “I want to hike. I want to be out and active. Last year I went to Greenland and Iceland and I went to Israel. I climbed Mount Sinai."

Reflecting on her inspiration for traveling the world, Osmond turns somber, saying, "I have been so blessed and I love my work, but I’ve had 17 friends now that have lost their spouses and the crazy thing is they are all between the ages of 55 and 65."

Seeing all this loss was a wake-up call — "You know what? It is time. I’m going to cross things off my bucket list and I’m going to enjoy life," she says.

Osmond recognizes her luck, and refuses to take anything for granted. “God gave me my sweetheart back after being apart for years and I’m living life with him," she says. "I’m going to have all the fun I possibly can as long as we both can have it. Life is a gift, and we don’t know how long we’re going to be here. But believe me, I’m going to do everything I can to be here because I want to be with my kids and I want to be a part of my grandchildren’s lives and maybe even my great-grandchildren's lives.”

Realizing what truly matters

Osmond says it has been hard seeing so many friends deal with loss. “When they feel they can’t breathe, somehow God gives them a respite, but all of them have said, ‘Man, I didn’t expect it. This is so tough,’ and it is,” she sighs. “Change is the only thing consistent in life and I hate it just like everybody else, but it really has made them all look at life in a different way."

Osmond has tried to make the most of each day, and encourages everyone else to do the same. As she puts it, “I don’t know anybody on their deathbed who says, ‘I wish I would have spent more time with work.' It’s all about family and friends." This philosophy may sound simple, but Osmond's learned firsthand just what a beautiful difference it can make.
