Mark Wahlberg's work-out regime has been revealed – and it's life-crippling
Mark Wahlberg's remarkably honed body has become one of his professional trademarks over the years, but now he has revealed the gruelling daily schedule he undertakes to maintain his immaculate figure – and we're not entirely sure it's worth it.
On Tuesday the Oscar-nominated actor answered questions about his fitness regime on Instagram, and supplied his fans with a highly detailed copy of his daily routine.
The Departed actor's day begins when the star wakes long before dawn at 2.30am in order to get cracking on a 90-minute workout.
But rather than rest after his intense session, Wahlberg heads out for a round of golf before returning home to have a session of cyrotherapy in a recovery chamber, which involves submersion in low, often freezing temperatures to relieve muscle pain and is popular with athletes such as Usain Bolt.
However, despite his early rises and twice-daily workouts Wahlberg still makes sure he has plenty of time for his family.
He revealed that he he picks his children up from school everyday and ensures that he devotes four hours of his schedule to "family time".
The devout Catholic, who has previously said that his faith is the most important thing in his life, also spends 30 minutes praying every morning.
According to Page Six Wahlberg refuses to deviate from his daily routine even when filming or travelling – in August it was reported that a Manhattan gym opened at 3.45am especially for the actor's workout.
Wahlberg's forthcoming film, Mile 22, in which he plays an American intelligence officer trying to smuggle an officer with sensitive intel out of the country, is released in the UK on September 19.
