Marvel Releases New Trailer For 2024 X-Men Comics Slate
Rise of the Powers of X cover
It’s Comic-Con season, which means there’s a host of big announcements and reveals out of New York that have comics fans excited. We recently learned about Marvel’s next major crossover event, the vampire-themed Blood Hunt, but that’s not all Marvel has up its sleeve.
In a new trailer released on Twitter, Marvel revealed the covers for a set of new X-Men comics all underneath the “Fall of the House of X” banner. Three comics were teased: Fall of the House of X, Rise of the Powers of X, and Resurrection of Magneto, all of which will tie together to create one grander story.
The trailer doesn’t give much away, showing off key artwork from the upcoming comics but not spoiling any of the story. These comics are still a fair way off, after all, and it’s a bit early for Marvel to be giving up the game just yet.
We do have a pretty good idea of what it’s about though, with Marvel giving us a few hints on its website. The Disney-owned comics giant is calling this the end of the Krakoan Age, which refers to Krakoa, an island nation where mutants can live in peace. We’ve seen the rise and fall of this nation, and as of Fall of X, we know it’s on pretty thin ice.
Marvel also says that the two X stories – excluding Resurrection of Magneto – will form two halves of the same story that will ultimately end with the X-Men of today and the X-Men of tomorrow teaming up to fight in the final war against extinction. It sounds like there’s a lot of really big stuff going on, so X-Men fans should keep a close eye on both series when they launch in 2024.
Earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel teased a fresh start for X-Men comics, with a teaser poster that asked “Who are the New X-Men?” It’s likely that this will tie into the Fall of the House of X storyline, but as for how, we’ll just have to wait and see.
