McDonald's Is Testing a New Chicken Sandwich That's Grand
McChicken fans will be saying "I'm lovin' it" to McDonald's latest menu addition.
Select locations of the beloved fast food chain are testing the introduction of the Grand McChicken Sandwich. As its name suggests, it's a larger version of the McChicken, featuring the same toppings: mayonnaise and shredded lettuce. It made its debut on Aug. 23, and will only be available for a limited time.
Mashed reports that the big sandwich has been found in California in Bakersfield, Chico, Fresno and Sacramento. It's also available in Reno, Nevada.
This new version of the McChicken comes years after McDonald's introduced the Grand Big Mac, which was made with two beef patties topped with two melted slices of cheese, a special sauce, lettuce, pickles, and onions.
While this is the first time that the Grand McChicken makes its way stateside, a variation of the sandwich had been previously introduced internationally, including in Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
Besides the Grand McChicken's US debut, select McDonald's locations began selling a mouth-watering spicy breakfast sandwich: the Cheesy Jalape?o Sausage Egg McMuffin. The cities lucky enough to get it include Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, and New Orleans.
A McDonald's customer who tried it tweeted, "Gotta tell you, this new “Cheesy Jalape?o” thing at @McDonalds is a keeper. I didn’t think it was possible to improve the Egg McMuffin… I was wrong."
Additionally, the iconic franchise added another spicy item: the Cheesy Jalape?o Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese, which is sadly only available for a limited time.
