Mean Girl Mandrell! Brianna Says She Doesn’t Feel ‘Safe’ After ‘Bachelor’ Co-Star Says, ‘I Hate You’
Sexy and spunky Christina Mandrell, country singer Barbara’s niece, sent love rival Brianna Thorbourne off the deep end on The Bachelor.
On Monday night’s second episode of season 27, starring Zach Shallcross, viewers saw how Brianna had lingering hard feelings about how Christina had treated her during the premiere episode.
Brianna won America’s first impression rose when she first met Zach with four other women, including Christina, on The Bachelorette finale.
But Brianna told the cameras she was feeling “shaky” and described her show experience as “running in place.”
Soon, fans learned Brianna blamed Christina for her problems.
Christina had earlier landed a one-on-one date with Zach in which they visited his entire family.
The surprise hometown time in Anaheim, California to celebrate Zach’s mom’s birthday established Christina as a show front-runner.
The blonde country cutie confided in Zach that she was a divorced single mom with a daughter, 5.
Although Zach, 26, described himself as “terrified” by the prospect of being a ready-made dad, he gave Christina his date rose and they established a bond.
Later, Brianna looked on jealously as Zach kissed Christina at The Bachelor mansion.
She recalled in confessional, “On my first night, Christina made a mean comment to me.”
While greeting Brianna, who held her first impression rose at that time, Christina said, “Your dress is roses….you look beautiful…and I hate you.”
Brianna noted, “It felt like I got slapped in the face. She said, “I hate you. JK (Just Kidding).
“I didn’t realize how much it hurt me until now.”
Brianna decided to have a chat with Christina, because “she’s emotionally punched me in the gut.”
She told Christina she didn’t know if the ABC show would be a “safe” environment for her to find love and make friends.
Christina said it was not her intention to make her feel bad. She asked Brianna to repeat what she’d said and claimed to not even remember saying she hated her!
“I’m so sorry that your feelings were hurt and that it was on my behalf. I’m so sorry that I don’t actually remember saying that,” Christina said.
Brianna replied, “I’m choosing to believe that you don’t remember.”
Soon, Brianna told Zach she’d had trouble with another competitor but he didn’t want to know who it was, saying he didn’t like drama.
When she indicated the other gal had expressed hate, Zach said he felt “sorry” but also criticized Brianna, saying, “I feel like you have a lot of walls up.”
The reality TV hunk felt things were too “strict and serious” with her and he would prefer more light and fun conversations!
Despite the tension, at the second rose ceremony, Zach gave a relieved Brianna his very last rose so she continued in the competition.
With her date rose, Christina also stuck around, which will make things difficult for Brianna.
Zach told Parade.com before the show premiered that Christina “had me intrigued. She’s really funny.”
But Brianna didn't think she was kidding!
