Meet Ariana Grande's Best Friends from the '7 Rings' Video
Ariana Grande's new song "7 Rings" has finally dropped, and while "thank u, next" was all about the men in her life, this bop is allll about strong women. Ariana's best friends are front and center-the song even gets its name from their matching rings, which Ari bought at Tiffany & Co. after her breakup with Pete Davidson.
It went down a lil something like this: "You know how when you’re waiting at Tiffany’s they give you lots of champagne?" Ari told Billboard (answer: no, I certainly do not know). "They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring."
Since Ariana's closest girlfriends are the inspiration for her latest single, we made you a who's who guide. You're welcome!
TAYLA PARX
Tayla-whose given name is Taylor Parks-is a super accomplished actress and singer, probably best known for a) playing Little Inez in Hairspray, b) having a super good Instagram, and c) being a writer on literally every song you love (including "thank u, next!"). Not only has Tayla worked with Ari, she's also worked with other famous people like Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Demi Lovato, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and BTS.
Oh, and Tayla performed "thank u, next" with Ariana on Ellen back in November. Casual!
COURTNEY CHIPOLONE
Courtney is another one of Ariana's best friends, and they go way back. Like, all the way back to Boca Raton, Florida. Ariana even has a tattoo of Courtney's name on her knee:
But duh, you already know Courtney through her many appearances in the "thank u, next" music video:
NJOMZA
Njomza is a Chicago-born singer/songwriter who collaborated with Ariana's ex, the late rapper Mac Miller. In fact, Njomza's first song was released on his label. Oh, and it turns out Njomza is the person who encouraged Ariana Grande to write "7 Rings!" Cool.
ALEXA LURIA
Alexa is my personal favorite of Ariana's friends because her entire Instagram is devoted to food. According to Ariana Grande fan sites (which I definitely don't read regularly, I swear), the pair have been friends since they were just ten. They met in a P.E. class! Here's some proof:
And yeah, she was obvi in the "thank u, next" video:
VICTORIA MONET
Victoria co-wrote "thank u, next" with Ariana, and also happens to be a talented solo musician. It's safe to assume these two forged a friendship through their musical collaborations since they've been working together since 2013!
Psst: Victoria also performed alongside Ariana on Ellen, and TBH we should all just watch the video again, right??
KAYDENCE
Kaydence is another one of Ari's singer/songwriter friends, and they worked together on the genius that is the Sweetener album. Not much is known about how these two became so close, but Ariana's appeared on Kaydence's IG quite a few times!
