Meghan Markle's Birthday Is August 4, and Here's What She's Wishing for
Meghan Markle turns 37 on Saturday, August 4. Even though it seems she’s already got the fairy-tale life most of us only dream of (becoming a royal, marrying a prince and traveling the world, sometimes with a literal queen), she still wishes for one thing when she blows out the candles on her birthday cake each year.
On her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, back in 2016, the Duchess of Sussex revealed her birthday wish is inspired by her mother, Doria Ragland: “My mom has always said that birthdays are your own personal New Year. Your own chance to make resolutions just for yourself and what you prognosticate for your year ahead. More surprises, more adventure, more opportunities to grow, more days filled with giggles and cheeky jokes, more delicious meals, and more inspiration. Always more inspiration.”
Funny thing is, Megs, you’re our inspiration.
In a separate post from 2014, she revealed another past birthday wish: “I am 33 years old today, and I am happy. And I say that so plainly because, well…it takes time. To be happy. To figure out how to be kind to yourself. To not just choose that happiness, but to feel it. For my birthday, here’s what I would like as a gift: I want you to be kind to yourself. I want you to challenge yourself. I want you to stop gossiping, to try a food that scares you, to buy a coffee for someone just because, to tell someone you love them…and then to tell yourself right back. I want you to find your happiness.”
Aww. And if that’s not enough feel-good vibes, the former Suits actress will attend her husband’s BFF’s wedding (how altruistic!) on Saturday.
We just hope there’s an open bar to toast to the birthday girl…
