Meghan Markle Eats “Sexy Mush,” and More Weird Celeb Food Habits
Meghan Markle Eats “Sexy Mush,” and More Weird Celeb Food Habits
From Kate Hudson to Chrissy Teigen (and, yeah, Meghan Markle), tons of celebrities have weird eating habits that rival those of our own. Here's a round-up of the strangest ones we could find.
Meghan Markle
While the entire world has been obsessing over zoodles, Meghan Markle's been using the veggie for an oddball pasta sauce hack. She slow cooks zucchini with water and a little bouillon until it turns into what she calls a"filthy, sexy mush." Sounds, um, yummy?
Gwyneth Paltrow
Actress and Goop goddess Gwyneth Paltrow is sort of known for her crazy habits, dietary habits included. According to our senior editor, who lived a week of her life based off of Paltrow's latest cookbook It's All Easy, her favorite drink smells like salad dressing. But the A-list actress swears by the drink, which is a mix of toasted sesame oil, chopped ginger, coconut sugar and almond milk, calling it the "perfect warming treat for a rainy afternoon." Whatever you say, G.
Jessica Alba
While trying to keep up between her careers as an actress and co-founder of The Honest Company, Jessica Alba relies on water to get her through the day. But, regular H20 isn't Alba's go-to. It's actually salty water (which most people hate). She says she loves adding pink Himalayan salt to her agua.
Kate Hudson
If you ever wondered how actress Kate Hudson keeps those killer abs, it's not by eating breakfast. That's right–in a recent interview with Self she explained that she doesn't do breakfast, saying, "I'm not one of those people who wakes up hungry...I realize that when I do [have breakfast], I eat less during the day or late at night." Any nutritionist would tell you that's a terrible habit...but we all make mistakes.
Jessica Biel
It's not so much what Jessica Biel eats as where she eats it. The star brings her meals into the shower - and we're not just talking about a shower beer. She brings nice dishes with chicken apple sausage and a mug of espresso with her. "This is just Mom life," she explained on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. "I don't know if anybody else does this, but I do not have time. I don't have time - for anything - so I'm feeding [my son, Silas] in the morning, trying to get ready, and I realized I haven't eaten. I just take it into the shower."
Taylor Swift
Popstar and girl squad leader Taylor Swift reaches for a very high-maintence drink when she has a sandwich–lavender lemonade. We've heard of flavored lemonade of course, but lavender? What's that like? Or better yet, would Beyoncé like it?
Chrissy Teigen
Model, cookbook author, and new mom Chrissy Teigen is just like you: she loves Doritos. Only she eats them in the most bizarre way. In an interview with Delish last year, Teigen told us that she licks the seasoning off of each chip, then puts them back in the bag. We're not sure if it's a genius, low-calorie trick, or the strangest snacking habit we've ever heard of.
Channing Tatum
Super hunk Channing Tatum once confessed that his all-time favorite sandwich is the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a totally random extra ingredient. On Reddit he wrote, "Bread, white. Peanut butter-not crunchy, creamy. Grape jelly-double portion, more than you think should actually fit on a piece of white bread. Bread. And then some Cheetos shoved in there, and then you're good to go."
Kourtney Kardashian
Back in 2017, Kourtney Kardashian explained on her (now-defunct) app that there is a proper way to eat a Reese's peanut butter cup. It's still kind of unclear what exactly that way is, but there was a whole segment where she peeled the chocolate off the peanut butter in order to eat it like a "chocolate appetizer," so.
Kelly Rowland
Everyone who loves a Frosty with fries knows that Kelly Rowland is onto something with her go-to order at this fast food chain. "You've got the salt with the potato and the sugar," she told Delish. "It's just so good."
Kristin Cavallari
In her book Balancing In Heels, The Hills star Kristin Cavallari shared a lot about what she eats on a daily basis. She mentions that one of her family's favorite weeknight dinners is bun-less burgers. Now, we get the low-carb appeal, but a burger without it's bun? Oh, man.
Erin Andrews
Unlike most of us who follow the "It's the weekend, calories don't count" mantra, Erin Andrews' cheat day is on...wait for it...Monday. To be fair, it makes sense when you consider her crazy schedule. After finishing up as co-host of ABC's Dancing With The Stars, Andrews treats herself to a big pasta dinner. Honestly? Respect.
Tom Cruise
If you're anything like us, you believe all forms of cookie dough are created equally. Give it to us by the scoop from an artisanal dough shop, homemade with graham crackers, or in a store-bought log and we'll eat the stuff - baked or raw. Not Tom Cruise. An excerpt from Leah Remini's book revealed the actor finally found a mission too impossible to overcome: making cookies from prepackaged dough. He apparently bypassed a package of it in his fridge before flipping out at his assistants because he couldn't find his "cookie stuff."
Jake Owen
Adding salt to food is not the least bit groundbreaking, but Jake Owen likes to bump up the salty flavor of the strangest thing: soda. He drops peanuts (an old Southern tradition) into his Coke.
Giada De Laurentiis
It's no secret that chef and restaurant owner Giada De Laurentiis loves brown rice. But in a recent interview with Delish we were surprised to learn what time of day she likes to eat it: breakfast. "I like a starch or a grain in the morning," she explained, going on to tell us that her mom used to make farro for breakfast. Now she carries the tradition on with her favorite, brown rice, as an alternative to sometimes-super-boring oatmeal. But her favorite dessert might be even weirder. The famous chef loves dipping Milano cookies or Nilla wafers in lemonade!
Tim Tebow
In order to keep up with his crazy schedule co-hosting SEC Nation at colleges across the country, Tim Tebow has a very specific order when it comes to the world's favorite energy booster: coffee. Tebow takes his with a mix of half-regular, half-decaf coffee, "a tap of heavy organic whipping cream," a sliver of butter, a little unsweetened almond milk, and two-to-three drops of liquid Stevia, English Toffee flavor.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Unless you were living under a rock, you definitely didn't miss that moment in April of 2016 when NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. pissed off the entire internet with one tweet. Apparently the world does not agree with his sandwich of choice: mayonnaise and banana on white bread.
Tori Spelling
When Tori Spelling isn't busy starring in David Tutera's Celebrations, she's most likely having a seriously fun and creative meal with her family. If you don't believe us, check out her latest interview with Delish. She told us her husband, chef Dean McDermott, actually experiments a lot with gummy bears. Her favorite McDermott candy creation is his gummy bear salad. Hm.
Allison Sweeney
Actress and former host of NBC's The Biggest Loser Allison Sweeney is so obsessed with blueberries, she stops at nothing to add them to her meals. She'll top a turkey burger with blueberry jam instead of store-bought ketchup. That's definitely a new one.
Danica Patrick
NASCAR driver Danica Patrick is obviously fearless on the track, but apparently she's also quite adventurous in the kitchen. Patrick told Delish she has no boundaries when it comes to meat. She's even whipped up bison burgers, and had steak on her waffles.
Gordon Ramsay
You might think Michelin star-awarded chef Gordon Ramsay loves to sit down to a nice meal as much as he loves to cook, but guess what: the MasterChef host says he doesn't do lunch or dinner. Instead, he eats five times a day, focusing on smaller portions in order to keep his energy up.
