Did Meghan Markle inspire Princess Eugenie's wedding hair and makeup?
For her royal nuptials to Jack Brooksbank, Princess Eugenie seems to have taken beauty inspiration from Meghan Markle, whose ceremony also took place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
Princess Eugenie looked every bit the blushing bride with classic matrimonial makeup shades of rose. According to Kensington Palace, the royal bride tapped Hannah Martin, a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown U.K., for her wedding day. Similar to Meghan’s minimal approach to makeup in May, Eugenie walked down the aisle with radiant skin, rosy cheeks, and voluminous lashes to accentuate her natural beauty.
For her hair, the princess showed off her freshly colored red locks and chose the messy bun style Meghan has made popular among contemporary brides. Eugenie enlisted hairstylist Sunny-Jo MacFarlane to coif her strands in the low bun, but the twisted style was on full display without a veil, an accessory the duchess used. MacFarlane finished the look with curled, face-framing tendrils and a beautiful emerald-encrusted tiara (borrowed from her grandmother, the queen), whose shape was akin to Meghan’s diamond number.
On Twitter, one observer took note of the resemblance: “Princess Eugenie looks lovely,” wrote Patricia Treble. “Like Meghan, her hairstyle is upswept, with a few tendrils of hair relaxing the look.”
Regarding her manicure, Eugenie, who is known to embrace nail art, followed royal protocol with simple nails. While the duchess opted for a more opaque finish for her nuptials, Eugenie went for a minimalist look with a sheer coat of Essie Ballet Slippers ($9).
Understated royal-wedding beauty is a trend in the making — and one fit for a modern-day bride, too.
