Meghan Markle's Maternity Leave Is Set to End Next Week

Royal watchers are about to see a lot more of the Duchess of Sussex. Since Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor's birth on May 6, the new mother has largely stayed out of the spotlight, aside from a few high-profile appearances (cough cough, that time she met Beyoncé at The Lion King premiere). But starting next Thursday, it's back to business as usual.
While no official announcement regarding the end of her maternity leave has been made, it's clear that the Duchess has a full schedule ahead of her this month, starting on September 12. That Thursday—the day before London's fashion week starts—Meghan is hosting a launch event for her capsule collection. The line of workwear will benefit Smart Works, a patronage of Meghan's that prepares underprivileged women for the job market. Expect a few words from Meghan herself, followed by a panel discussion with Smart Works clients.
Not long after, she'll travel with Prince Harry and Archie to Africa for a royal tour—which will feature jam-packed schedule for the young family. They'll touch down in South Africa on September 23. Then, Harry will venture out on his own to Angola, Malawi, and Botswana before reuniting with Meghan and Archie in South Africa.
It'll likely be an adjustment for Meghan to dive back into the life of a working royal—but it'll be all the more confusing for Archie, who's just getting his first taste of it.
