Melania Trump and Queen Rania of Jordan twinned in pink for an afternoon tea party
Melania Trump is serving tea to Queen Rania of Jordan, both of whom wore different shades of pink for the ceremony.
On Monday, Donald and Melania Trump rolled out the red carpet — literally— for King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Queen Rania, during the couple’s four-day visit to the United States to discuss peace between Israel and Palestinian. After the king and queen exited an SUV, reports the Daily Mail, they were greeted by a red carpet on the South Lawn of the White House and posed for photos with the first couple.
Melania wore a $3,950 light pink, belted dress by New York-based brand Proenza Schouler and Queen Rania chose a lighter-toned, long-sleeved jumpsuit.
“It’s a great honor to have the King and Queen of Jordan with us. They’re friends,” said the president. “We’ve known each other now for quite a while. Long before this.” He added in response to a compliment from the king, “Remember, he used the word ‘humility’ with respect to me, so I am very happy with that word. That’s probably the nicest compliment I’ve been given in a long time.”
When asked if he regretted signing last week’s executive order to stop immigrant families from separation at the border (the result of his “zero tolerance” policy which detained thousands of children without their parents and sparked a worldwide backlash), the president said, “No, no. The executive order was great. It was something that I felt we had to do. We want children staying together. The law has been this law for a long period of time.”
President Trump also slammed the New York Times for publishing “fake news” and remarked that President Obama had a “big problem” with immigration.

The royal couple last visited the White House in April 2017 to discuss the Syrian War. During their stay, a photo of the two first ladies standing stiffly behind their husbands went viral. “It’s another Stepford Wives photo op,” tweeted one person.
On Tuesday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the White House and Melania, wearing a green and white floral Valentino dress enjoyed tea with Her Majesty, who created buzz with her bright-pink Michael Kors dress, a carbon-copy of the blue version Melania wore to meet the Panamanian first couple in 2017.
Melania’s style was once again news last week when she boarded a plane to Texas to visit detained children at the border wearing a green, hooded $39 Zara jacket that read, “I really don’t care. Do u?” The jacket provoked disgust across social media for its suggestion of indifference to the immigration crisis and while Melania’s spokesperson insisted the jacket bore ‘no hidden message,’ the president confirmed it was a dig toward the “Fake news media.”
“I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!
