Melania Trump recycles $1,280 striped shirtdress for Tim Cook dinner
Melania Trump posed for a photo on Friday night, commemorating the dinner she and the president had with Apple CEO Tim Cook at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, N.J. When she posted the pic on Saturday morning, first lady followers may have noticed something familiar about it.

“@potus & I enjoyed dinner with Tim Cook last night in Bedminster,” her Instagram post read.
Trump first wore the black-and-white striped shirt dress in March when she visited St. Mary’s Medical Center in Palm Beach to deliver Easter baskets to sick children. She obviously likes this look; she wore the same pointed-toe black heels and black belt. Hey, if it works.
The first lady hasn’t recycled many outfits in the past — a Michael Kors sheath here, a red Valentino dress there. However, Melania loves her shirtdresses — while in Saudi Arabia in May, she wore a camel-colored version by Ralph Lauren with black-and-white heels by Manolo Blahnik. A few months later when visiting hurricane victims in Texas and Louisiana, she rocked the same dress, this time with Manolo Blahnik snakeskin heels.

The dress is by Adam Lippes, an up-and-coming designer who also happens to be an outspoken Planned Parenthood supporter. We don’t know whether Trump chooses to wear this dress in acknowledgement of the designer’s politics, but we might also surmise some other symbolism from her outfit selection for Friday’s dinner. Its striped pattern echoes that of the president’s tie. Perhaps she (or her stylist) actually coordinated their outfits as a sign of unity after last weekend, when her spokesperson voiced Melania’s support of LeBron James despite the president’s criticism of him on Twitter.
If this dress was meant to show solidarity with her husband, Melania Trump made one slight error in her Instagram post: She tagged the inactive account “@potus” instead of “@realdonaldtrump.” Oops.
