Melania Trump's spokeswoman slams coverage of first lady's wind-blown hair during visit to military base
A story about Melania Trump and Karen Pence’s joint visit to Fort Bragg on Monday to support military families is being slammed by the first lady’s director of communications — because it’s all about FLOTUS’s messy, wind-blown hair.
Stephanie Grisham took to Twitter to call out an article by British tabloid the Daily Mail, which featured multiple shots of the first lady’s long hair blowing in the wind as she flew out of Maryland and arrived in North Carolina.

“Melania Trump’s normally picture-perfect appearance met its match on Monday morning, when the first lady was caught in some very blustery weather that saw her left without a single hair in place,” the article reads.
Grisham didn’t appreciate the coverage, accusing it of glossing over Trump’s focus on members of the military in honor of Month of the Military Child. FLOTUS and the second lady’s trip to Fort Bragg included a visit to a middle school on the military base, where Trump spoke to students about her anti-bullying #BeBest initiative.
.@flotus & ?@SecondLady? traveled to @ftbraggNC today to honor #MonthoftheMilitaryChild & those who put their lives on the line to keep us safe. This is what @DailyMail chose to cover. This display of liberal media bias undermines all who serve. https://t.co/eYZsZ8atoD

“This display of liberal media bias undermines all who serve,” she wrote, though commenters were quick to point out that, in addition to being a U.K. newspaper, the Daily Mail is notoriously conservative.
It's the Daily Mail. If you knew anything about the publication you would know that this is their schtick. BTW- UK. Not US.

It is a UK tabloid much like your beloved National Enquirer.

The Daily Mail isn’t American or liberal?

Other commenters defended Trump over the “awful” coverage, with one supporter taking a potshot at former first lady Michelle Obama.
Haha. More than one way to get coverage. I’m sure they couldn’t resist because she always looks fantastic even with messed up hair!

It’s not the first time Grisham has been critical of the media attention the first lady receives.
“The media consistently ignores the first lady’s work on behalf of the people of this country, and children in particular, in favor of more trivial matters,” Grisham wrote in an op-ed for CNN last December.
