Melissa Joan Hart Reveals She Had a Fling With This Famous Actor in the '90s

The '90s were a wild time.

In an alternate universe, Melissa Joan Hart and Ryan Reynolds may have had the stronghold as Hollywood's "It" couple.

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress stopped by the new Hey Dude … The 90s Called! podcast, where she dished on her teen crushes and relationships, including "a little thing” she had with the Deadpool star way back in the day.

The unexpected pair, who are now both 46, met on the set of the first Sabrina movie in 1996—which later spawned the spinoff television series—where Reynolds played Seth, a love interest for Hart's Sabrina.

The revelation was subtle, mentioned briefly as Hart tried to remember the name of another '90s classic that he and Corky Martin, who she also dated, appeared on (Fifteen).

There was no further elaboration this time around, but it wasn't the first time Hart had spoken about the fling; she actually revealed their brief affair in an interview with E! News' Giuliana Rancic back in 2014.

Despite being in a committed relationship at the time of the film shoot, after Reynolds, 17 at the time, gifted her a Bulova watch on their final day on set she made what she may see as a hasty decision in retrospect.

"I chased him down, got in front of his car and just kissed him and then made out with him all night," she said. "Then I had to call my boyfriend the next day and explain it."

He came to visit her in New York after the fact, but Melissa decided she was going to stay with her boyfriend.

A few years later, she reiterated that it was her pre-existing relationship that led to the nonexistence of one with Reynolds.

On a 2017 episode of the Australian morning show Studio 10, she said, “I had a boyfriend at the time, but we were smitten and cute and he was adorable.” She later admitted that Reynolds "probably would have been a great boyfriend." She also mused that, and since she and her boyfriend at the time didn't last, perhaps she should have given him a chance after all.

The ill-fated couple didn't make out too poorly, though. Hart married Mark Wilkerson, of the band Course of Nature, in 2003. The two share sons Mason, 17, Braden, 14, and Tucker, 10. Meanwhile, Reynolds married Blake Lively in 2012, and they share James, 8, Inez, 6, Betty, 3, and a newborn baby.

It's not too late to give fans a taste of what may have been, though; Melissa Joan Hart and Ryan Reynolds-led rom-com, when?
