Michael B. Jordan's trainer shares the secrets they used to get him ready for 'Creed II'
Michael B. Jordan got into amazing shape for his roles in Creed and Black Panther. We wanted to know what it takes to be as ripped as Jordan. His biggest secret? He doesn’t work out alone. He has his trainer Corey Calliet there to push him.
Calliet refers to himself as a body transformation specialist and has described the process of training Jordan as similar to an artist taking a chisel to a block of marble. He told us that training is different for each type of movie Jordan is working on.

“For Black Panther I wanted to make sure we did a lot of weight training. I wasn’t trying to make him as conditioned as I was for boxing, so we would do a lot of weight training, and the nutrition was very different,” Calliet told Yahoo Lifestyle. “When training for a boxing movie, it takes a lot of plyometrics, like a lot of running, a lot of conditioning to break the body down to make the muscles real round and popping.”
When training for a film, Jordan does two to three workouts daily. And these are not your average workouts. They’re killer, full-body workouts, which makes sense when you look at him…

Most of these workouts centered, unsurprisingly, around lifting weights. They led Jordan to pack on about 20 pounds of muscle for his role in Creed II.
He does everything from weight training to boxing to mixed martial arts. When it comes to lifting, he goes hard, bench-pressing up to 315 pounds. Talk about beast mode!

But it’s not just about working out. Calliet told us that Jordan’s lifestyle and diet are extremely important too. When training, Jordan eats six small meals a day; Calliet said, “You cannot look how you want to look if you are not eating right.”
So if you want to be shredded like Jordan but aren’t a fitness expert, it may be worth getting a trainer like Calliet in your corner. As Calliet says, “I think anyone can do a good program, eating wise and training wise. It just takes you!”
