Michelin award-winning restaurant to open location in nearby ski town
DENVER (KDVR) — Last year, a local Italian restaurant, Tavernetta, was among the first Colorado restaurants to be recognized by the Michelin Guide. Now, the establishment is expanding to a nearby ski town.
The first edition of the Michelin Guide Colorado in 2023 awarded nine restaurants close to Denver for their delicious and affordable dining experiences. Among the restaurants that won the Bib Gourmand was Tavernetta, a high-class spot rated for special occasions at a lower price.

Almost a year after the award, Tavernetta announced the restaurant’s expansion to Vail where it will create a similar experience by partnering with Four Seasons Resort Vail.

Inside Tavernetta Vail, the restaurant said there will be indoor and outdoor spaces with a new bar, lounge and booth seating. There will also be a renovated private dining room for small meetings, family gatherings and other milestones.
The rest of the restaurant is still in progress. Tavernetta said the menu is still being developed and won’t be exactly like the restaurant in downtown Denver, although there will be some similarities.

“Tavernetta Vail will offer a menu that explores the whole of Italy, capturing the rich flavors of the north and the vibrant tastes of the south, while honoring the mountain culture and diverse cuisine of the country’s Alpine regions,” said Tavernetta.
The Vail location will also have an all-Italian wine list with a full Champagne offering, an Italian-driven spirits list and a digestif program, according to the restaurant.
While the exact opening date hasn’t been released yet, Tavernetta said it plans to open in the winter before the end of 2024.
