Michelle Pfeiffer, 59, smolders in metallic gown with plunging neckline
It’s never too late for metallic, and Michelle Pfeiffer has just proved the point.
Pfeiffer’s latest film turn, Murder on the Orient Express, premiered in London Thursday night, and she was glowing. And not just because of the excitement surrounding this movie. The actress sparkled her way down the red carpet in a silver lamé Prada gown with tubular draped shoulders and a plunging v-neckline.
The long number coated her figure like thick liquid spilling to the floor, showcasing her frame. It showed just enough skin thanks to a front-and-center slit. She paired the gown with strappy silver heels.
The look definitely didn’t need any jewels, so all she wore was a simple set of sparkly earrings and a ring. Between the minimal jewelry and her icy blue eyes that matched the dress, the outfit made a strong statement.
It’s not often that metallics are considered glamorous these days. They are usually reserved for Kylie Jenner’s edgy chrome nails, glitter lipsticks, and really wild outfits, like Blake Lively’s latest metallic nude dress.
And yet sophisticated metallics are making a comeback. In October, the Emmys were filled with glimmering gowns, although many of the wearers skewed younger. The color group is usually reserved for the daredevils — but daring doesn’t expire.
Whether you want to make a splash or prove silver can be sophisticated, Pfeiffer just gave you permission to do so no matter what your age is.
