Miley Cyrus's Big Country Hair at the Brit Awards Would Make Dolly Parton Proud
She's going back to her roots.
After her iconic, ultra-viral Grammys performance a few weeks ago, it seems Miley Cyrus is fully leaning into her edgy-country-showgirl fusion style in the best way possible. After all, nearly everyone online was left drooling over her larger-than-life "punk Raquel Welch" inspired hair, so we would too—and that's not even mentioning the drools caused by the similar styling she sported in her latest music video for "Doctor (Work It Out)" released just days ago. All that said, her latest public appearance was all the proof we needed that she had fully leaned into her new look, and we couldn't get enough.
On March 2, Cyrus was in London, England, to attend the UK's biggest music award show, The BRIT Awards. At the awards ceremony, the American pop icon was nominated for two awards—International Song of the Year and International Artist of the Year, going home with the award for Song of the Year for her hit "Flowers." Obviously, for such a big night, her hair had to be just as big, which it was, along with the outfit.
Though not as raised and tall as its Grammy counterpart, Cyrus's hair was full of volume, shine, and bounce. Quaffed to the right side without any noticeable, defined part, all of her hair matched with loose waves. The largest wave came in the form of a face-framing accent. On the right side of her face, a large, defined wave swept down right under her eye, grazing her cheek and curling back inwards. It was this addition that brought the country vibes to life, also reminding us of Beyoncé's hair when she hard-launched her country era.
However, although the styling was top-tier, it was the color that made the look all the more exciting.
Miley has been consistent with marble black-brown-blonde coloring for over a year now. However, this rendition was a tad different. The bulk of this look was a dark mahogany color that covered nearly every inch of her mane, leaving just a few highlights to brighten and frame her face.
As for the fashion, she paired the hairstyle with a plunging, backless, tan-pink minidress. Across the dress, there were countless embellishments of glittering rhinestones and diamonds, also with a sheer mesh lace trim on the bottom.
