Mochi Dog With World's Longest Tongue| Travel + Leisure
Mochi, a big, lovable, eight year old St. Bernard from South Dakota, just nabbed the Guinness World Record for having the longest tongue (on a dog, that is).
Mochi is a proud member of the Rickert family from Sioux Falls — and her tongue measures an incredible 7.31 inches in length.
Her owner, Carla, says she’s often stopped by strangers who marvel at her amazing tongue. “It still does not seem real! Mochi is so humble, she never brags or boasts but I know that she is as proud of her new record as we are,” she said to The Telegraph. If only dogs could run the world.
Rickert describes Mochi as happy-go-lucky, resilient, and having a big personality. She enjoys dressing up in costumes, having her picture taken, spending time with her family, or snacking on sweet potatoes, according to The Telegraph.
Apparently, her tongue can also get in the way, too. Mochi sometimes has breathing problems and needs help picking things up off the floor. Some things can be both a blessing and a curse.
Mochi can be found in the latest edition of the Guinness World Records: Amazing Animals book.
