Moms Are Up in Arms After Keke Palmer Spoke Out About Experiencing 'Breast Milk Discrimination'
Keke Palmer recently spoke out about a somewhat saddening situation, and fellow moms are up in arms after learning of the relatable scenario.
The newly minted mother-of-one, who just gave birth to son Leodis with boyfriend Darius Jackson on February 25, was traveling through a Houston, Texas, airport when faced with what she described as "breast milk discrimination."
On June 12, the Key TV creator took to Twitter with her gripes, explaining what happened and adamantly posing a question to her followers.
"Breast milk discrimination at the Houston airport ruined my mood," she opened the social media note, undeniably frustrated by the whole ordeal.
Palmer continued, questioning, "I should’ve popped my tit out right then because the discretion and comfort of pumping is thwarted with threats to throw out over 16oz [of] my babies food?!?!!! Why is that not a crime??" before adding, "I’M A MOTHER for crying out loud," along with weary-faced and teary-eyed emojis.

For other moms, the reality the Nope star endured was quite upsetting, as they jumped to her defense in the comments of the thread.
One angered mother related to the feeling, writing, "I’ve had this issue in soo [sic] many airports. TSA really needs to get it together," alongside a fuming red mad-face emoji.
"I have to freeze mine and transport in a cooler for them to leave me 'alone,'" another said, while a third shared they felt "violated" and "embarrassed" when the same thing happened to them at a different airport.
A few more simply called it "disgraceful" or "unbelievable" and said they were "so sorry" she had gone through that.
Another social media user, who seemingly has experience with the topic, offered a bit of advice: "I used to work for a major airline, and I'm a mom of 3, it's VERY ILLEGAL for them to handle or throw out breastmilk (including ice packs to keep it preserved). Baby food and formula may exceed standards ounce restrictions. TSA and the airlines know better."
The fan continued, offering another tidbit on rights moms have when it comes to food for their children while traveling. "It's also illegal for them to make you run your breastmilk through the x-ray machines of you decline. They can do a brief visual inspection instead. There are nursing/ pumping privacy pods at most airports. You aren't obligated to use them. Legally you can pump/nurse anywhere," she added.
Here's to hoping parents don't have to go through so much hassle while traveling with breast milk in the future!
