The Most Epic Proposal Went Down at the Emmys
After all the diversity skits and Leslie Jones's enthusiastic cheers, Glenn Weiss won the entire Emmys when he accepted the award for directing for a variety special for his work on The Oscars. While most people struggle to remember everyone they want to thank, Weiss gave thanks to his mother, who sadly passed away two weeks ago, then surprised literally every single person in the crowd when he proposed to his girlfriend Jan Svendsen.
While accepting the award, he said, "You wonder why I don't like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife." Shook!
Then he said he wanted to give her the ring his dad gave to his mother 65 years ago and wanted to do it "in front of my mom and your parents watching from above."
Before he called her up to the stage to get her ring, Svendsen looked so surprised in the audience.
When she made it to the stage, Weiss dropped down on one knee and gave her the ring.
And everyone was just like:
Wow. Congrats!
