Nail tech receives $1,000 tip for $33 service: 'God knew what I needed'
A pregnant nail technician was exhausted when she agreed to take on another customer — and thank god she did. After talking, that client left the Greensboro, N.C. mom-to-be a $1,000 tip.
Breanna Turner told WXII that the gratuity was incredibly appreciated, and she hopes she can pay it forward with kindness.
“I was just really shocked because she was truly God-sent. God knew what I needed,” Turner, who is six months pregnant, told the local news outlet. “[The client] was the sweetest lady ever. She said God told her to do it for me.”
Turner was finishing another client’s hair when she was asked to perform a manicure and pedicure on a waiting patron. Throughout the appointment, the pair chatted, with their conversation eventually turning to spirituality.
“We just had a deep conversation about God and our journeys in life. What she’s been through and what I’ve been through,” Turner said. “She ended up tipping me $1,000 just from that one $33 service.”
The note the client left behind simply read, “Love Bre and want her to have any treasures she wants including $1,000.”
“I would try to give some of [the money] back to her. I pray for her all the time now. She didn’t know me… She didn’t have to do it,” Turner said.
Beyond the tip, the client offered her kind words and advice that Turner felt she needed: “She just poured into my life and spoke to me and told me not to give up.”
She’s hopeful she can find the client to properly thank her. Until then, she’s going to “keep going and keep making people happy.”
Turner plans to purchase her baby a crib with the tip, pay her car payment and set the rest aside for a rainy day.
