This is a bit of a cheat since it was actually directed by Nancy’s daughter Hallie, but it’s clear she learned from her producer mom. Reese Witherspoon plays an interior designer in this movie, so the design of the house had to be amazing. The Spanish-style home features a stunning white kitchen with bright blue backsplash, an insane living room with huge windows, and an awesome guest house that leads to many important plot developments. All this and the house’s combination of rustic and mid-century touches is why Home Again lands at number 10 on our list.
This movie hasn’t aged great, but the Chicago apartment where Mel Gibson’s character lives still looks amazing. Beyond the amazing views of the city, the baby blues in the apartment were picked based on Gibson’s eyes. Plus, the bathroom where he hits his head and earns the ability to hear women’s thoughts would be make any city-dweller super jealous.
When Hallie and Annie make the switch and head to each other’s homes, Hallie finds herself enchanted with this stunning English townhouse. With its on-trend coral walls, grand staircase and refined dining room, it’s easy to see why this house is a London dream come true and why it belongs at number 8 on our list.

With high ceilings, a killer pool, blackout shades in the bedroom, and a move theater quality media room, we’re ready to move in any time of year. Throw in a cute old Hollywood legend neighbor, and it’s a no brainer why this house lands at number 7 on our list.
Coming in at number six is the home in Father of the Bride. Steve Martin’s character, George Banks, lives in the dream home. The large white colonial with its green door and oversized front yard tree is as good as it gets. The exterior is only matched by the comfy cool interior with a gorgeous kitchen, spacious living room and don’t forget the renovated baby suite they add in Father of the Bride 2.
The house Cameron Diaz retreats to in the English countryside is so adorable, we couldn’t resist putting both houses from the movie on this list. Sure, the road might be impassable come winter, but once you’re snowed in with all that British coziness including exposed wood beams, a charming kitchen, and a claw-foot tub bathroom, why would you ever want to leave?
Anne Hathaway’s character lives in a dreamy Brooklyn brownstone, melding traditional architecture with contemporary furniture and decor. But it’s the kitchen that really shines-it’s sleek-but-cozy, with a rustic-meets-industrial vibe. High ceilings, crown molding, and a farmhouse sink…what more could you ask for?
After switching places with Hallie, Annie finds herself in her father’s stunning California ranch house, which had to come in at number 3 on the list. From acres of land for outdoor activities and a gorgeous ivy covered facade to sky high ceilings and a giant fireplace on the inside, Annie was in for a very warm welcome.
Coming in at number 2 is Meryl Streep’s breathtaking Spanish-style ranch in It’s Complicated. The kitchen alone, with its neat open cabinets and double oven and stove, is worthy of this spot. Not to mention its expansive front porch and lush landscaping.
Diane Keaton’s Hamptons house in this movie is nothing short of iconic. It’s chic and spacious, with an enviably large and fully-stocked kitchen, plus a stunning wrap-around porch where you could easily spend all day lounging with a good book.
