What is National Flip Flop Day?

It's a day to celebrate the unofficial footwear of summer and the beach life. According to nationaldaycalendar.com, the day was started in 2007 by Tropical Smoothie Cafe to celebrate its 10th anniversary. You can wear your favorite flip-flops and post images to social media using #NationalFlipFlopDay.

To celebrate the flip-flop holiday, Tropical Smoothie is giving away a free 12-ounce Island Punch Smoothie to guests from 2-7 p.m. The Island Punch Smoothie combines peach, guava, passion fruit, mango and pineapple.
