The limited-edition capsule consists of slides in two different heel heights and three transparent tints, which match Live Tinted concealer shades.
For this series, Naturalizer will feature global female leaders using their platforms to create inclusivity for all women. For this particular collaboration, Mutyala has chosen to support the Unicorn Island Foundation as the benefitting charity for the capsule.
For Mutyala, it was especially important to embrace inclusivity and comfort in this collaboration. “I was telling my team that I really want to do a fashion collab because of the intersection of fashion and beauty,” she told FN. “Something that I’m really interested in is the idea of comfort and just being comfortable in your skin and in your fashion. They go hand in hand, so I’ve always wanted to do that.”
Mutyala emphasized that joining forces with Naturalizer was a perfect fit because she can personally relate to the brand’s ethos. “I am not a girl who wants to sit around with a 6-inch heel and be miserable,” she added. “Even on carpets, I just don’t do it. I just wear things that don’t show the shoe. And I wear the comfortable shoe. It’s so nice to know there’s a company out there that does like cute, trendy things.”
Naturalizer had their reasons for choosing Mutyala for this collaboration. “Her passion, I think, and how she sees her women, how she wants every woman to feel seen, was so special to us that we were like, there’s no better person to collaborate with on something like this,” said Jen Wiley, senior director of brand marketing and creative, Naturalizer.
The Naturalizer x Deepica Mutyala collaboration features six versions of the Illuminate Slide Sandals, retailing at $125 each. The collection is now available to shop on Naturalizer’s official website.
