Netflix Drops Trailer for ‘Russian Doll’ Season 2 Ahead of the Show’s Return on April 20

Fans of Russian Doll have been anxiously awaiting the show's return ever since it premiered back in February of 2019. And now, it seems the wait is finally over, as the show will come back to Netflix on April 20 with its second season.

The main cast of the series will reprise their roles, including Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black), Greta Lee (The Morning Show), Charlie Barnett (You), Yul Vazquez (Runaway Bride) and Elizabeth Ashley (Treme). However, we can also expect some new faces, including Schitt's Creek star Annie Murphy.

Check out the trailer for season 2 of Russian Doll below.

As we've previously learned, courtesy of Variety , season 2 of Russian Doll will jump four years into the future. “Season 2 will be set four years after Nadia (Lyonne) and Alan (Barnett) escaped mortality’s time loop,” the publication said. “New episodes will follow the pair as they pass through an unexpected time portal located in Manhattan—causing both to face their pasts.”

In the trailer, we see the pair navigating New York, with Nadia jokingly saying at the beginning of the clip, “The universe finally found something worse than death. I broke time.”

However, as the trailer unfolds, the viewer realizes that there may be a deeper meaning to this time warp. In the clip, Nadia says, “Maybe we have unfinished business.”

It has been confirmed that season 2 of Russian Doll will consist of seven episodes, all of which will be available to stream when the series drops on April 20. Until that moment comes, we will be rewatching season one in preparation for the new episodes.
