NOLALove rally showcasing big names to inspire students
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — NOLALove is a series started five years ago by the InspireNOLA Charter Schools.
Its goal is to give students inspiration outside of the classroom to help them develop as young adults.

Jamar McNeely, CEO, of InspireNOLA Charter Schools says, “We wanted to showcase to the city of New Orleans that our students deserved to be loved, deserve to be motivated and inspired to do great things because they will be the next great leaders in our city.”
This NOLALove rally is the second in a series this year, happening Friday, Sept. 20 at the Xavier University Convocation Center and has become a favorite of participating students.
According to Wardell Harvey, McMain High School Senior, “I like how it brings together all different schools whether they’re in InspireNOLA or not and how and I also love that no matter who you are, you’re able to take away something positive from the rallies from hearing voices of many different people from many different backgrounds.”
Pastor Jonathan Everett of Rock of Ages B.C. is a returning guest speaker and he hopes to deliver coping skills to the students.

“The social dysfunction of our community is just as prevalent so we’re seeing some of our soft skills that are not being handed down or transferred to our young people on how to embrace no rejection, how to embrace isolation, neglect and all those types of things. So just as powerful as you have to be in the classroom, you have to be just that powerful outside of the classroom with your chin up high and your shoulders squared,” said Everett.
Chloe Durel, McMain High School Senior stated, “We get to learn things from big entrepreneurs and they tell us what they went through making it in life.”
