You Can Now Buy Harry Potter-Inspired Wallpaper, and the Detail Is Incredible
For any muggle living in a state of perpetual disappointment that their letter to Hogwarts never arrived, you're one step closer to living the dream—or, at least, recreating it at home. The graphic designers of the oh-so-popular book series about The Boy Who Lived, Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, have created five wallpaper designs that will make you feel like you're living inside the wizarding world.
But you don't have to be a diehard follower of the series—or even a casual fan—to appreciate these designs. There's nothing kiddie about them, and the attention to detail is incredible. There's one inspired by ornate, classical tapestries, which details (spoiler alert!) misunderstood wizard Sirius Black's twisted family tree. Another resembles the covers of books you'd find in the Hogwarts library, with references to tomes mentioned throughout the seven novels.
One of my favorites resembles the Marauder's Map—a map mentioned in the series that can track any person AND/OR ghost that is on the Hogwarts premises—has a subtle, almost vintage-looking feel with the perfect chic touch of HP. Plus, its neutral palette goes with any decor, even if you're not going all out with Pottery Barn's Harry Potter bedding and decor.
If that's a little too low-key for your tastes, you can always go for a more dramatic touch, using the graphic black-and-white wallpaper that resembles the front pages of the series' fictional newspaper, The Daily Prophet.
Truly, there are choices for those who want a sprinkle of the fantasy world incorporated in their home decor and for those who aspire to deck out every room in Harry everything.
Before you start planning your weekend project, know that it takes about 2-4 weeks for the wallpaper to be delivered, which is sold on minalima.com. Thankfully, though, the London-based brand does ship internationally! And if you're ever in London or Osaka at their physical stores, you'll find them there too.
