Octavia Spencer Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Sandra Bullock's Late 'Soulmate'
Octavia Spencer is sending her condolences to Sandra Bullock following the loss of her longtime partner Bryan Randall, who died over the weekend at age 57.
Randall—who had been dating Bullock for eight years—passed away on Saturday, Aug. 5, following a private three-year battle with ALS.
Following the news of Randall's death, which was confirmed by his family on Monday, Spencer, a good friend of the couple, took to social media to pay her respects to Bullock and the rest of Randall's grieving family.
"My heart is broken for Sandy and Bryan," the Truth Be Told actress wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday. "Sandy lost her soulmate and the world lost a talented, handsome, all around good guy!"
"My prayers and condolences to their families," added Spencer—who has been friends with Bullock since the '90s when they appeared together in the 1996 film A Time to Kill. "RIP Bryan Randall," she added.
"In heaven, there’s a tiny little lady up there who looks an awful lot like me bossing the Angels around," The Help star went on to say. "Especially Gabriel. She’ll get him to play any song you want to hear. Give her a kiss from me."
Spencer's heartfelt tribute garnered some supportive responses from her friends and fans, including co-star Gabrielle Union, who commented, "??????????????????????????????" under Tuesday's post.
"I love you so much my friend," actor Aaron Paul added.
Celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff-Kendricks also shared a message in the comments, writing, "So sorry to hear this. Sandy spoke of him so highly while we were filming lost city of D. Prayers for her and his family ????????????."
Bullock has yet to make a public statement regarding her partner's death, and his family previously asked for privacy as they continue to mourn Randall's death.
The family has also asked anyone wanting to show support to donate to the ALS Association and the Massachusetts General Hospital in lieu of flowers.
