Offset Just Said He Definitely Doesn't Regret His Public Cardi B Apology

Offset just went on Ellen and said he doesn't regret his very public apology to Cardi B during the middle of her set back in December.
He also said he feels like the backlash he's received was unfair.
Remember back in December when it came out that Offset had cheated on Cardi B, and he interrupted one of her performances to ask her to take him back in the most public way possible? He just went on Ellen to explain his thought process on the whole thing.
Basically, despite all the flack he got for that grand gesture, he doesn't regret it.
“I love my wife, so it’s serious, it's not a game to me,” he said. “So, it’s like, we can have schedules, and we have shows, and I just felt like, if I gave a break between time - I just can’t give that break between time. So it’s not forefront. I step to it as a man and say I’m wrong. … And you don’t have to take me back, but I just want you to know I love you and I care.”
At the time, Cardi's fans were angry that he would interrupt her performance, which is her literal job, for what they saw as selfish reasons. He compared it to when he asked her to marry him in the same basic way.
“I’m putting it all on the table just like [when] I asked her to marry me in Philadelphia at the [Power 99 Powerhouse concert] in front of 60,000 people. … And when I did that, they were like, ‘Oh, well, why he do that?’ ‘Cause it’s just my affection,' showing I’m not hiding it. I’m not hiding my affection for you, that’s all," he said.
The problem with that comparison, though, is the timing and tone of the gesture. Offset proposed to Cardi back in October of 2017, when her fame was on the rise and an over-the-top proposal like that, which is positive in nature and would be widely covered by media outlets, would help her career. For what it's worth, they were already married, so the chances of her saying "no" were slim to none.
But the "take me back" gesture, over a year later, when she was (and still is) at the top of her game, feels more like an attempt to take advantage of the fame she now has. On its face, it's more manipulative than celebratory.
Offset went on to say that his gesture, and the backlash it brought, is an example of why men don't always feel comfortable showing their feelings.
"That’s just me being vulnerable, I guess. You know, and it kinda bit me with the response of people, but that’s why a man don’t be trying to be vulnerable, ‘cause when you do it, it’s like, ‘Aargh.’ There’s something wrong with it either way,” he said.
That's all fine and good, but couldn't he just, like, have not cheated on her? IDK.
