Only True Disney World Fanatics Will Ace This Quiz
Disney World is called "The Happiest Place on Earth" for good reason. Seriously, have you ever walked down Main Street U.S.A. without beaming from ear to ear? Or, ya know, tried a Dole Whip?
Millions of people - 20.4 million visited Magic Kingdom in 2016, according to the Orlando Sentinel - travel to Orlando, Florida for some good ol' family fun. And if you've ever been, then you know that nothing compares to the pure joy of meeting your favorite characters, munching on world-class sweets, and catching a thrill on your favorite rollercoasters. So, how does your trip experience stack up?
Take this quiz to see if you're truly the "Disney World Expert" that you claim to be.
Remember: It's all fun and games here. It's Disney World, after all.
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: You feel like you're "home sweet home."
There's magic - and pixie dust - in the air! Ease your worries by planning your meals and FastPass selections weeks in advance. If you're staying at a Disney resort, then you can you get your FastPass choices set 60 days in advance. Other Disney ticket holders can choose their FastPass selections 30 days before they arrive. Meal reservations at parks and Resorts - breakfast, lunch, dinner, or all of the above - can be made 180 (!) days in advance.
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: Keep ponchos on hand at all times.
Florida weather is temperamental, especially during the summer months (ah, Hurricane season!). Instead of packing up, bust out your Mickey poncho and stick around because rides continue in rainy conditions. Outdoor rides, including Epcot's Test Track, Magic Kingdom's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest, will close for thunder, lightening, or severe stormy conditions.
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: Eat your way around Epcot (and sprinkle in some rides).
Oftentimes, Epcot is less crowded than the other parks - Magic Kingdom, especially - but it still offers a number of attractions and restaurants to keep the entire family happy (and full). Sample different cultural specialities at Epcot's World Showcase, which includes the finest cuisine from Canada, Italy, Japan, and more. Foodies love Epcot's annual International Food & Wine Festival, which runs from August to November. But it's not just for adults: Kids can get involved by stopping at the Kidcot Fun Stops to collect stamps while you wine and dine.
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: Go to the park extra early.
Shhh, let's keep this between us: If you book a breakfast reservation for first thing in the morning, you can get a head start on rides as soon as you finish eating. Yep, even before the park officially opens. Finally, a way to get on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Avatar Flight of Passage without waiting in line for hours!
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: You swear by the monorail.
Meet the not-so-hidden gem of Disney World. The Disney monorail lets guests travel for free between Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. So, what makes it special? The "public transport of the future" is efficient and gives you an incredible bird's eye view of the parks.
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: You stay away from the crowds by staying in Frontierland.
If you're traveling with young kids, Cinderella's castle is the way to go. But if you're trying to take a breather, head to Frontierland for more elbow room. The daily parade travels from Main Street U.S.A. through Frontierland so either way, you're in for a great show. Bonus: Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are located in Frontierland so, there's that.
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: You hit up The LEGO Store at Disney Springs.
Between being on your feet in the beating sun and dealing with your kid's sugar high, Disney World isn't always a walk in the park (no pun intended). Rather than retreating back to your room, take a ride to Disney Springs for an afternoon of shopping and eating. Snag a Christmas ornament at Disney's Day of Christmas, treat your little builder at The LEGO Store, or hit up your favorite stores, including Anthropologie, Vera Bradley, and Zara.
IF YOU'RE AN EXPERT: You know it's the most MAGICAL place on Earth.
No explanation necessary. You just have to see it to believe it.
